UC Health Plans $251M Revitalization Of Medical Center

Academic health system UC Health is planning a $251 million revitalization of the UC Medical Center in Cincinnati.

The project includes an expansion and renovation of the 30-year-old emergency department (ED) and the construction of a four-story building to add operating room (OR) capacity at the hospital. Two new parking structures for patients, visitors, and employees are also planned to add 1,300 parking spaces.

The surgical building is expected to open in early 2023, followed by the new ED in summer 2023.

The project team comprises CannonDesign (design; Columbus, Ohio), Blue Cottage of CannonDesign (health consultant; Columbus), Messer Construction Co. (construction; Cincinnati), TriVersity Construction Group (construction; Cincinnati), Heapy Engineering (Dayton, Ohio), THP (structural engineer; Cincinnati), and The Kleingers Group (structural engineer; Cincinnati).
