Sentara Healthcare (Norfolk, Va.) has broken ground on a new $158 million health campus in Elizabeth City, N.C.
The Sentara Albemarle Regional Health Campus will include a new two-story, 60,000-square-foot medical office building (MOB), expected to open in 2022, and an 80-bed replacement hospital, which is slated for completion in 2024.
The MOB will consolidate family medicine, internal medicine, and specialty offices for Sentara Medical Group, as well as house the Sentara Cancer Center, which will feature a new linear accelerator to replace an aging one at the current hospital.
The project team includes Innovate Architecture (designer; Norfolk) and Whiting-Turner (contractor; Norfolk).
