The American Mission Hospital (AMH; Manama, Bahrain) is planning a new 10-bed hospital in Manama.
The $66.3 million, 775,000-square-foot King Hamad American Mission Hospital will include an eight-bed intensive care unit (ICU), 17-bed neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), outpatient unit, 20-bed urgent care unit, six-bed labor/delivery/recovery unit, and five modular operating rooms.
The eco-friendly, solar-run project will also include underground parking for 500 cars, a 129,000-square-foot staff accommodation building, and landscaped garden area.
The project team includes Leo A Daly (concept designers; Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates and Omaha, Neb.) Aref Sadeq Design Consultants (designer; Manama), Kooheji Engineering Consultants (consultants and project managers; Manama), Smart Skyline Contractors (general contractor; Manama), IDA (interior designer, Manama, Bangkok, and Singapore), and Baker Wilkins & Smith (technical advisor; Manama)
The project is slated for completion in October 2022.
