Fishermen’s Community Hospital is poised to reopen in Marathon, Fla., nearly four years after Hurricane Irma demolished the former facility, according to an article in the Miami Herald.
The new $43.7 million Fishermen’s Community Hospital is designed to withstand a Category 5 hurricane.
Baptist Health South Florida (Coral Gables, Fla.) bought the community hospital in July 2017 for $13 million with plans for renovations before the hurricane hit two months later.
