The department of neurology at Washington University School of Medicine’s Taylor Avenue Building (St. Louis) has completed four renovation projects.
The projects included:
- A 6,200-square-foot interior renovation converting the building’s former recreation space off the main lobby into a new clinic supporting the Knight Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, which includes exam and testing rooms and staff support spaces.
- A new 1,500-square-foot office suite and collaborative work area for the department of medicine faculty.
- A 4,900-square-foot renovation to create the Adult Psychiatry Center for Mental Health and Wellness. The new clinic includes a new waiting room and check-in area, alcoves for patient vitals, and infusion rooms. A therapy room for transcranial magnetic stimulation designed to be acoustically isolated from the rest of the clinic was also added. An open collaborative work area, breakroom, conference room, and 13 onsite patient interview rooms also were included.
- Updated finishes and lighting, as well as additional seating areas and a shared breakroom for the 2,300-square-foot public lobby.
The project team included KWK Architects (architect; St. Louis), SSC Engineering (MEP; Chesterfield, Mo.), Paric Construction (general contractor; St. Louis), and United Construction (general contractor; St. Louis).
