Project Team Selected For VA Clinic In Florida

The U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs (VA) North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System has selected the project team for a new 173,500 square-foot outpatient clinic and 28,500 square-foot domiciliary, which will provide residential rehab and treatment services for homeless veterans, in Jacksonville, Fla.

Architectural firm Hoefer Welker (Leawood, Kan.) and developer US Federal Properties (USFP; Kansas City, Mo.) have been chosen for the project, which will consolidate existing mental health and primary care services into a single campus to serve the area’s 45,000 veterans. The facility will house primary care, mental health, radiology, optometry, multispecialty, physical medicine and rehab, audiology, and pathology services.

The project team also includes Meyer Najem Construction (general contractor; Fishers, Ind.), Sain Associates (civil engineer; Birmingham, Ala.), Bob D. Campbell & Co. (structural engineer; Kansas City), Smith & Boucher Inc. (mechanical engineer; Olathe, Kan.), Land3 Studio LLC (landscape architect; Lee’s Summit, Mo.), FSC Inc. (life safety; Kansas City), and Protection Engineering (blast engineer; Austin, Texas).
