Allegheny Health Network Plans 160-Bed Hospital In Pennsylvania

Nonprofit, academic medical system Allegheny Health Network (AHN) (Pittsburgh) is planning a new hospital that will be connected to AHN’s Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion in Pittsburgh.

The 160-bed, 345,000-square-foot Wexford Hospital will offer comprehensive women and infant care, including labor and delivery services; advanced cardiac, neurosurgical, orthopedic, and cancer care; a 24-room emergency department and short-stay observation unit; adult intensive care unit (ICU); and operating rooms that provide minimally-invasive robotic surgical capabilities.

The hospital will feature a patient- and family-centered design, including hotel-like concierge services and patient controls in the rooms to set the temperature, lighting, and entertainment, as well as order room service.

The project is expected to open in fall 2021.
