The Players Center for Cancer And Blood Disorders Opens In Florida

Nemours Children’s Health in Jacksonville, Fla., in partnership with Wolfson Children’s Hospital (Jackson), has completed The Players Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders (the facility is named for a donation from the annual golf tournament on the PGA Tour).

Located on the fifth floor of Nemours Children’s Health, the 12,000-square-foot center includes specialized and comprehensive pediatric hematology and oncology care services.

Specifically, the project houses private treatment, exam, and consultation rooms, including separate exam rooms for immunocompromised patients. Dedicated laboratory space has a pneumatic tube station that connects to Nemours Children’s main laboratory to make the testing process more efficient.

The Eckstein Family Infusion Suite, which is a service of Wolfson Children’s Hospital, features five open infusion bays and three private isolation rooms for immunocompromised patients. The suite also features semi-private infusion bays.

Gresham Smith (Nashville, Tenn.) provided architecture, engineering, and interior design services for the project.
