Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, Wis., has started construction on an emergency department (ED) expansion project, according to the website wsaw.com.
The 29,500-square-foot expansion will nearly double the department’s current size, increasing the number of patient rooms from 18 to 30.
The project will also add critical care rooms, a larger waiting room, and an additional triage room, as well as upgraded patient parking.
The three-phase project is expected to take two years to complete.
