The Virginia Department of Health (Richmond, Va.) approved the construction of a new acute care hospital in Smithfield, Va., according to an article in wktr.com.
Operated by Riverside Regional Medical Center (Newport News, Va.), the 50-bed Riverside Smith Hospital will include 10 intensive care unit beds.
The timeline for the project has not been released.
