The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and developer Cullinan Properties Ltd. are planning a new mental health clinic for veterans in Tampa, Fla.
The $91 million project is slated to take 18 months to complete. The 144,000-square-foot clinic will consolidated three existing VA facilities, including a rehab and recovery center, a 60-bed inpatient domiciliary, and a residential treatment program.
The project is being designed using the Green Building Initiative’s Green Globes New Construction program, with a goal to achieve a 2-Globe score through energy efficiency, low-wattage LED lighting, automatic lighting controls, a high-performance building envelope, water use reduction, reduced emissions, recycled materials, automated controls, and ecological landscaping.
The project team comprises Leo A Daly (architectural, interior design, and MEP services; Atlanta), Hoar Construction (general contractor; Birmingham, Ala.) and Prosser (civil engineer; Jacksonville, Fla.).
