Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (Leeds, England) is planning two new hospitals in Leeds, according to an article in the bbc.com.
Plans call for a new hospital for adults and a new hospital for children on the site of the Leeds General Infirmary (Leeds), portions of which are being demolished to make room for the two new hospitals.
The Leeds Children’s Hospital, which will offer cancer, neurology, transplantation, and congenital heart surgery services, will include an island garden, outdoor space, and play area. A new maternity center and expanded critical care unit are also planned.
The new adult hospital will include a diagnostic imaging department and an expanded critical care unit.
Architecture firm BDP (Manchester, England) will lead the design on the projects.
Construction is slated to begin in 2023.
