NYC Health + Hospitals (New York, N.Y.) is planning to renovate its NYC Health + Hospitals/Coney Island campus in Brooklyn, N.Y.
The facility will be renamed NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health, Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hospital and will include a new 11-story hospital. Additionally, an existing tower will renovated to include a new elevated emergency department (ED) with an ambulance dock and vehicular drop-off with a ramp connecting to the ground level; surgical suite comprising eight operating rooms; endoscopy suite; labor and delivery unit; inpatient dialysis; 80 private medical/surgical beds; 60 behavioral health beds; radiology and interventional radiology; and clinical laboratories.
The project is expected to open in 2022.
