International Code Council, ASID Announce Partnership

The International Code Council (Code Council; Washington, D.C.) and the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID; Washington, D.C.) are partnering to offer designers a series of initiatives and programs focused on promoting building safety and creating safe, affordable, and sustainable communities.

As one of its first initiatives, ASID and Code Council will collaborate on a new Interior Design Code Specialist (IDCS) certification, which will promote building safety through the interior design profession. Code Council will develop the exam, while ASID will identify subject matter experts to provide input. Additionally, ASID members will be eligible for special Code Council membership packages that support the new credential, while non-ASID members may have the opportunity to apply for the exam and join ASID at an exclusive rate.
