HDR (Omaha, Neb.) has been selected as the architect for the new Cancer Hospital of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (Zhejiang Cancer Hospital WHAT IS THIS?) in Shaoxing, China.
The 5 million-square-foot, 2,500-bed project will be divided into two phases that will include three centers of excellence, two general inpatient towers, a diagnostics and treatment podium, infectious disease center, research and education building, and administrative building.
The project will have a “healing harbor” theme inspired by its location in the water town of Shaoxing and the surrounding landscape.
