St. Michael Medical Center CHI—Franciscan Replacement Hospital Opens In Washington

Nonprofit health system St. Michael Medical Center—CHI Franciscan (Tacoma, Wash.) has opened a new hospital in Silverdale, Wash., KHQ reported.

The $500 million, 500,000-square-foot hospital replaces St. Michael Medical Center—Bremerton (Bremerton, Wash.) and centralizes St. Michael’s cardiac and surgical care in the new location.

The hospital includes a Level 3 trauma center with a 56-bay ED, as well as 144 new critical and acute care beds. The campus also includes an existing birth center and Level 2 special care nursery.

Private patient rooms, a new hybrid cardiology OR/catheterization lab, spacious dining and staff break rooms, and an outdoor healing garden are included in the project.
