Good Samaritan Hospital (West Islip, N.Y.) has completed a modular expansion of its pediatric emergency department to meet growing demand for services, according to an article in Construction Review Online.
The $14 million, 6,500-square-foot project features 16 modular units to add 12 treatment bays for critical pediatric care, two of which are isolation rooms. The space also includes large corridors, storage alcoves to house medical equipment, and exam rooms with sound-rated walls and doors.
Stantec was the architect on the project.
