Sentara To Build Replacement Hospital In North Carolina

Sentara Healthcare (Norfolk, Va.) plans to build a new $158 million hospital to replace the 60-year-old Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City, N.C., according to an article in The Virginian-Pilot.

Situated on 135 acres, the 110-bed replacement hospital will include two medical office buildings with a radiation oncology and cancer care center. Sentara is also leasing 3 acres on the property to Pasquotank County for a new headquarters for the Pasquotank-Camden emergency medical services building.

Construction of the hospital is expected to be completed in 2024.
