St. Elizabeth Healthcare (Edgewood, Ky.) is finalizing construction of a new cancer treatment center in Edgewood.
The 250,000-square-foot project will feature an integrative oncology center and clinical research facilities and offer cancer detection, diagnosis, and care services.
Key design elements throughout the project focus on addressing infection control, including RFID technology to manage the flow of patients, staff, and equipment throughout the hospital; barrier-free doorways to public restrooms; and touch-free entry and exit doors.
The cancer center is expected to open in October 2020.
