A groundbreaking ceremony was held for the David A. Thatcher VA Community Clinic in Missoula, Mont.
The facility expands the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) capacity to offer primary care, mental health, and specialty services to veterans in the area. Additional functions include women’s health, sleep therapy, prosthetic services, telehealth, physical therapy, lab work and pharmacy.
The $31 million clinic will be designed to support the VA’s Patient-Aligned Care Team (PACT) model, which groups clinicians together in multidisciplinary teams, as well as include 56,700 square feet of rentable space.
The exterior of the building will integrate metal panels, cast stone, brick and glass to complement the surrounding Missoula architecture and landscape. An entryway canopy, healing garden, extensive walking paths, and room for 285 parking spaces also will be added.
The project team includes Leo A Daly (planning, architecture, engineering, interiors, and sustainability consulting; Dallas), IMEG Corp. (civil engineer; Missoula), Hamstra Builders (construction; Grand Haven, Mich.), and Quality Construction Company (construction; Missoula).
