Boston Hope Medical Center’s (Boston) post-acute, alternate care site at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center will close, but remain standing, according to an article in CBSN Boston.
The site treated 700 patients recovering from COVID-19 since it opened in April 2020, helping to relieve pressure on area hospitals by transferring their non-acute coronavirus patients so resources could be focused on acute care.
The 1,000-bed field hospital was a collaboration between the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the City of Boston, Partners HealthCare (Boston), and Boston Health Care for the Homeless (Boston).
